I've Hit a Brick Wall - Now What? How to Overcome Obstacles in Your Life

Have you ever had times in your life when you wanted to make changes but didn’t know what to do or how to move forwards. The obstacles you were facing seem insurmountable. In other words, you had hit a brick wall.

As I thought about the metaphor of a brick wall, I started to realise that brick walls could teach me a lot about myself and the struggles I was having to create a fulfilling life. For thirty days I wrote down all the thoughts that came to me related to brick walls.

Reading this book will give you a different perspective on any obstacles that seem insurmountable or challenges you are currently facing in your life.

About the Author

Glenda_01c

Glenda Spackman is a grandmother of 6 who learned to ride a motorbike in her late 50’s. She has lived and worked in Russia, Turkey, Japan, Taiwan, Spain and New Zealand. However, for many years Glenda’s life wasn’t what she had dreamed of. She lived according to the values and beliefs of others and lacked confidence in herself. She wanted to make a meaningful difference in the world, but had no idea what she had to offer or where to start. In her late-30’s she stopped pretending her life was OK and started to question everything she’d been taught about herself and her place in the world.

Since that time, Glenda has identified her values and discovered what is important to her. She has increased her self-esteem, learned how to trust her emotions when she makes decisions and discovered how to deal with fears that were hindering her. As a result of these and other changes, she has created a fulfilling life aligned with her values.

Glenda is a career and life coach at Unique and Thriving. As part of the process of working out what she wanted to do with her life, she has had a range of careers including- x-ray technician, university lecturer, Principal Policy Adviser to the New Zealand Government and English teacher. Glenda completed her PhD in management as a mature student a semester before her eldest daughter started her university studies.

To relax, Glenda loves pulling on her leathers and riding her Kawasaki Ninja 650 out into big open spaces where she can take photos. She also thrives on the challenge of travelling on a shoe-string budget and working and living in non-English speaking countries. Glenda loves spending time with her three daughters and six grandchildren. Above all, Glenda loves helping others overcome the barriers that prevent them from living as superheroes.
